FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation consists of hermetically sealed glass cells and combines a range of material properties relevant for building insulation applications.

FOAMGLAS® will support high compressive loads; it is a lightweight non-combustible material providing excellent insulation protection against heat and cold. Most importantly, it is unaffected by the biggest threats to insulation materials: liquid water, water vapor, and fire.

What is cellular glass insulation?

Cellular glass insulation is a thermal insulation category that has recycled glass and sand as base materials, supplemented by mineral substances and other natural materials.

Based on long‑term testing of installed materials, cellular glass insulation demonstrates stable material properties over time. Studies of samples taken from existing buildings indicate that key performance characteristics can be retained over several decades. By supporting long service life, FOAMGLAS® insulation can help reduce the need for premature replacement and associated resource use over time.

FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation is manufactured from inorganic glass and does not contain added flame retardants or propellant gases. The product is made using an average of 50% post‑consumer recycled glass*, with partial reuse of production offcuts during manufacture.
