Magasin 4
celebrates 30 years with new high-tech concert hall

The Brussels music club Magasin 4 will soon have a new concert hall on Havenlaan. This new temple for alternative music and festivities will accommodate 500 visitors and has been designed by the architectural office CENTRAL. The project is the result of a collaboration between the City of Brussels, the Urban Development Corporation (MSI), the Brussels Region, and Magasin 4. The completion of the work is scheduled for 2024, the year in which the club celebrates its 30th anniversary. This modern hall will stand out for its advanced technology and sustainability.
The project places a strong emphasis on circular construction. The main circular principles integrated into the design are as follows:
- Adaptability and Flexibility: The building is designed to be easily adapted and extended. This is made possible, among other things, by the modular design and the possibility of adding additional volumes on the roof.
- Reversibility: The design takes into account the possibility of dismantling and reusing parts of the building, thus contributing to the sustainability of the project.
- Minimization of the Ecological Footprint: Great attention has been paid to the choice of materials to minimize the ecological impact. This includes the use of durable and recycled materials.
FOAMGLAS® Reusable Roof, fully meeting all these requirements, is supported by a concrete structure, ensuring a solid and reliable base. On this concrete support, FOAMGLAS® T3+ with a thickness of 16 cm has been installed according to the FOAMGLAS® Reusable roof principle, meaning it can be easily dismantled and reused.
The roof will then be finished with a green roof that will serve as a terrace.
