FOAMGLAS is proud to be part of the first circular office building in Belgium. This initiative aligns perfectly with FOAMGLAS® 's commitment to durability, demonstrated by the development of a new, glue-free installation method for FOAMGLAS® T3+ roof insulation, making it 100% reusable.
In this innovative solution, FOAMGLAS® T3+ insulation is laid loosely on a vapor barrier and coated with a non-flammable layer. The ‘t Centrum building aims to be fully circular, allowing each component to be easily dismantled and reused. FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation was selected for this project due to the exceptional properties of its products: fire safety, watertightness, dimensional stability, and high compressive strength.
Crucially, FOAMGLAS® cellular glass retains its compressive strength and other properties over time, ensuring it can be reused. According to the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), FOAMGLAS® insulation has a declared reference service life of 100 years*.

A Concrete Step Towards a Circular Economy
The glue-free installation of the roof terrace insulation was completed early fall 2021, providing an excellent opportunity to test and observe the solution in action.
