Insulation of a floor installed on the ground

The new hospital in Bergamo is one of the most important healthcare facilities in Northern Italy.

Due to high water levels and humidity; In this region of Italy is traditional to have a ventilation cavity beneath the floor slab. The architects wanted an insulation solution which could be installed in contact with the ground.

The FOAMGLAS® insulation system meets that requirement and is combined with a multifunctional waterproofing, and Rn222 radon gas barrier.

FOAMGLAS® insulation products are non-toxic, and do not move or compress under load. They all have a high resistance to chemicals and contaminated ground. Thermal performance is always assured whether conditions are dry or in situations with high humidity and ground water.
