The Vitry-le-François Aquatic Centre has installed FOAMGLAS® insulation on all its roofs to ensure long-term thermal performance, water tightness, and the absence of condensation. The building is classified as a Very High Humidity building by the DTU due to high levels of humidity from outside air. This decision was made to prioritize long-term savings during the operation of the pool.

Owens Corning FOAMGLAS® provides a Roofing25® Guarantee, which is issued upon building handover and covers the roofs' performance, watertightness, and absence of condensation for 25 years. This decision is uncommon in France, where Ten-Year Insurance is typically sufficient. However, re-roofing a swimming pool at the taxpayer's expense 15 years after construction is not ideal from an ecological and financial perspective. This analysis also applies to active roofs, which are expensive to re-roof with new insulation and waterproofing, and the owner is at the mercy of a poor implementation or low-quality design leading to issues after 12 to 14 years with only Decennial Insurance coverage.

With zero permeability and vapour-proof adhesive, FOAMGLAS® provides a vapour barrier in the mass. Even with an 18 cm thickness of glue at the FOAMGLAS® joints, moisture cannot enter the insulation layer, and the dew point temperature cannot be reached by the vapour inside the pool. As a result, there is no risk of condensation in the roof.
