Rooftop parking of shopping mall
The shopping mall is one of the larger ones in Ostrava. Its rooftop parking is accessible for customers from two directions. Due to two direction slopes, the concrete structure created horizontal valleys (“flat intersection”). Additionally, as a result of the deflection of the structure, the water could not properly evacuate through the local drainages.
The original rooftop parking installation was an inverted build-up, which was leaking after a decade of service. Therefore, the complete build-up (including the access ramp) had to be removed. FOAMGLAS® Compact Roof was chosen as a safe, long-lasting and heavy-duty solution for the carpark. A smart combination of even and “cut to falls” cellular glass insulation slabs enables a fast water drainage.
