How to install

FOAMGLAS® attaches high importance to service. We are happy to guide you through the installation process of FOAMGLAS® cellular glass insulation by means of some step by step installation videos. In this way you can be 100% sure that the insulation is installed according to our guidelines.Time to put some theory into practice.

The Bitumen Coating method

First, apply a bituminous primer on clean, dry concrete.
The FOAMGLAS® slabs are then fully bonded to the substrate with hot bitumen that is poured from the bitumen can.
Next, dip the long and short side of FOAMGLAS® slabs in poured bitumen and press into position against the already laid slabs, ensuring that the joints are staggered and tight-butted.
Finally, after applying a top coating of bitumen on the FOAMGLAS® slabs, torch the bitumen membrane onto the bitumen coating.

The Pour and roll method

First, apply a bituminous primer on clean, dry concrete.
The FOAMGLAS® slabs are then fully bonded to the substrate with hot bitumen that is poured from the bitumen can.
Next, dip the long and short side of FOAMGLAS® slabs in poured bitumen and press into position against the already laid slabs, ensuring that the joints are staggered and tight-butted.
Finally, after pouring bitumen on the FOAMGLAS® surface, the membrane is rolled into the hot liquid bitumen.

First, clean and degrease the crowns of the profiled metal deck before applying a bituminous primer.
Be sure to use a special dipping tray filled with hot liquid bitumen.
Then dip one long and one short side, as well as the bottom of the FOAMGLAS^® slab, in bitumen.
The slabs are then pressed into position on the steel deck against the already installed slabs, ensuring that the joints are staggered and tight-butted.
Finally, after applying a top coating of bitumen on the FOAMGLAS^® slabs, torch the bitumen membrane onto the bitumen coating.
