Application
Insulation systems in contact with the ground

The insulation of structural elements in contact with the soil makes particularly high demands on the insulating material. Structural elements in contact with the soil are practically inaccessible during the whole life of the building. What is needed is a compression-resistant, dimensionally stable insulating material that is permanently resistant to pressure, moisture, rotting, rodents and insects and which is also radon-proof.

The U value of the insulated area of the building remains unchanged over the decades. Thanks to its structure, FOAMGLAS® cellular glass absorbs no moisture. More than 50 years of product experience make FOAMGLAS® an insulating material that sustainably combines safety and profitability.
