The "Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ" located in Kiev, is the main cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC). The Church was inaugurated on March 27, 2011. The cathedral is located on the left-bank of the Dnieper River. The residence of the Patriarch of the UGCC has been built simultaneously with the cathedral, combining both religious and office premises, along with a large conference hall to hold synodal and other meetings of the clergy.
The project designer is academician Nikolai Levchuk. The cathedral rises imperiously, its cupola and the cross reaching above the tallest buildings to be erected nearby. The exterior architectural style is quite modern, without any manifestly traditional structural or decorative elements. FOAMGLAS® has been chosen as thermal insulation to protect such a stunning basilica!
